Court Sentence Bobrisky to six month imprisonment

The Federal High Court in Lagos, on Friday, doomed the most Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, to six months imprisonment without the option of a forfeiture for abusing the naira. 

Justice Abimbola Awogboro, while sentencing Bobrisky, said the judgment would be a interference to others who are set up abusing and maiming the naira.

Before the judgement, the judge asked about his gender, and he replied that he was a man incontinently. 

The judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro ruled that the jail term commenced on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest. 

In his address, Bobrisky contended the court that he wasn't apprehensive of the law of abusing the naira note.

He said that he's a social media influencer and he'd over Five Million followers. The judge replied him that ignorance of the law wasn't an reason. 

Bobrisky said in his contending speech, ” I know my Lord. My lord, I wish that you could give me a alternate chance to use my platform to inform and educate my followers about scattering plutocrat. I would do a videotape on my runner and I would educate people about scattering plutocrat. I'll not repeat it, my lord, I lament my conduct, my lord. 

In all his speech, He said he rued all his action against Naira note and promised not to repeat similar conduct again.
