BREAKING: COURT JAILS FOUR DANGOTE WORKERS OVER N15M FRAUD
Ogun State High Court in Abeokuta, on Monday, Sentenced 4 workers of the Dangote Group to imprisonment for defrauding N15m belonging to their employer.
The press reported that Lukman Adam, Ibrahim Lawal, Adewale Dalmeida, and Afeez Olaniba on December 6, 2018, were castigate before Justice O. J. Bamgbose on two counts of conspiracy and stealing by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,(EFCC) Lagos Zone. The four men pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Though, on December 16, 2018, the accused changed their plea to guilty after entering a petition bargain with the prosecution.
EFCC; a petition was received from the company that Dalmeida, whose job schedule to monitor, tracking and reporting trucks of Dangote Cement, Ibese Plant, collaborate with the chief driver of the company, Lawal, and a Ghanaian driver, Adam, and Olaniba, who worked as an agent at the Nigerian to Benin border, to defraud the company of N15m.
The first accused is sentenced to two and a half years on each count and it shall start from the date that he was arrested and detained, being September 14, 2018.
The second accused is sentenced to eight months on each count and to start from September 12, 2018.
The third accused is sentenced to eight months on each count and to start from the date of arrest.
The fourth accused is sentenced to eight months on each count and to start from the date he was arrested.
